Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer behaviour modification services (if you already have a challenge such as your cat is spraying) and also problem prevention services (advice on introducing cats before you do).

  • It is important that I read over your cat’s clinical history so that I am not suggesting something that could exacerbate something else (such as some forms of play if your cat has arthritis). It also means that if the need arises I can speak to your vet too. Behaviourists and vets often work as a team:

    • Vet addresses medical issues

    • Behaviourist addresses environmental, social, or training factors
This increases the chance of successful outcomes.

  • I have helped many cats and their caregivers and have spent hundreds of hours learning about cat behaviour. I am a candidate member of the federation of animal behaviourists and an associate member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors - Associate members have demonstrated that they have the appropriate level of Knowledge & Understanding for the professional role of Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB). They are now gaining the practical experience necessary to be assessed as a CAB and therefore become a Full member of the APBC. The APBC supports its Associate members undertaking behaviour consultations.

There are standards to be apart of these associations and you can complain to them if you do not feel I have behaved appropriately.

As my time as a cat sitter I’ve seen how many behavioural challenges can make people worried about their cats and embarrassed - I’ve seen it all and I’m here to support you.
